The one time Poison frontman Bret Michaels is poised to go under the knife for open heart surgery in January.
The singer, who has been dogged by serious illness over the past year. He suffered a near-fatal brain hemorrhage in April, causing a minor stroke. It was while he was hospitalised for this that doctors discovered he had a hole in heart heart, and had had it for his whole life.
A spokesperson for the singer told Radaronline.com, "Is he 100 per cent? No, but he's in good spirits, he's having fun on the road, he loves his fans and has always said music heals him.
"He said that there are times when, of course, he worries but he has great people around him and he's very cautious. Maybe sometimes he gets a little tired easier and on occasion he'll get a headache, but that's when he knows it's time to rest."
Rest, however, doesn't seem to factor into his schedule. He has a book tour planned for March to promote his upcoming autobiography, 'Roses and Thorns: The Reality of My Rock and Roll'.
