Brian Harvey denies suicide attempt

Brian Harvey has denied there was anything "sinister" in the car accident which almost took his life last month.

The former East 17 star was in a coma until the end of last week after the incident on May 31 in Walthamstow, East London, which followed two reported suicide attempts.

Harvey has now been taken off a ventilator and has spoken publicly for the first time about the accident, which saw him seriously hurt after falling under the wheels of his own car.

His manager explained that Harvey, 30, had now been moved out of intensive care in South London's St George's Hospital and has told him what happened.

"Brian has had a series of recollections, but...it was nothing sinister. It is very positive...he is now in a normal ward," Simon Harrison told the BBC.

"He could go home in a week, but it could be up to eight weeks. He is on the road to recovery, but they are long-term healing injuries," said Harrison.

According to police reports, Harvey was thrown from his car as he reversed down a road with his door open, before hitting another vehicle.
