Following standing ovations across the UK, British Sea Power conclude their current Sea Of Brass live dates with a sold-out show in the main hall at London's Barbican Centre.
British Sea Power with Redbridge Brass Band
Saturday 24 January 2015
London Barbican Centre, UK
British Sea Power's Sea Of Brass project stems from a commission from Arts Council England, PRS Foundation and Derby Council and led to selections from the British Sea Power catalogue being reworked for 26-piece brass orchestra by the respected arranger Peter Wraight. Sea Of Brass was premiered at the Durham International brass festival in July 2014. Audience and press reaction was ecstatic.
"Completely mind-blowing... truly special" – Louder Than War.
Redbridge Brass Band became a competition brass band in 1970, after forming at the Redbridge Music School. They entered the top level of brass-band performance, the Championship Section, in 1986, where the band has remained ever since. In 2008 Redbridge Brass made its Glastonbury debut, performing live on stage with Hot Chip.
British Sea Power are to release a series of Sea Of Brass recordings – more news soon. Time to proclaim British Sea Power's brass-as-sea power station - heavy metal for the 21st century.
