Britney Spears has teased details about her new record, as she prepares to release its debut single.
The American pop star is set to release her ninth studio album this year (16), following on from 2013's Britney Jean. Hinting at what fans can expect from her upcoming material, Britney revealed she's ventured into a new sound.
"It's very exciting," she told E! News. "I've been working on this project for a year and a half now, almost two years so it really means a lot to me. It's my baby.
"It's a little melodic, a little more not so poppy. It's kind of chill. Very chill."
The first track to be unveiled from the album is Make Me (Oooh), which Britney, 34, is currently filming the music video for. She shared a fun photo from the set on Instagram on Friday (03Jun16), showing her scantily clad while surrounded by hunky topless male dancers.
Britney also cosied up to rapper G-Eazy for a snap, who lends his vocal skills to the song. It's likely to drop in July (16), with the album reportedly slated for release in the fall.
It's been a great year for Britney so far, as she picked up the Billboard Millennium Award in May (16) and performed a medley of her greatest hits at the ceremony. Though away from recording music, the blonde beauty has quite the eclectic taste in tunes.
"I'm old school. I like classic rock," she smiled. "I like The Rolling Stones. The Lumineers are really cool. Sade is nice. I like '80s music, too."
When she's not working, Britney is all about family life and loves spending time with her sons Sean, 10, and Jayden, nine, who she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Earlier this week (3Jun16) she uploaded a drawing one of the boys did for her as an anime character.
"While I was in the office today going through weekly to-do lists, I found this," she captioned the shot. "My son is really into Japanese anime and creates these elaborate characters. He managed to figure out a way to turn me into one of his characters! He knows I like my face to be covered, so he gracefully covered one side of my face with my hair. I am a very proud mom. My son is a true artist!!"
