Britney Spears is set to be honoured with a Billboard Millennium Award.
According to USA Today, the pop star will be presented with the respected award at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards show being held later this month (May16).
The Billboard Millennium Award acknowledges outstanding career achievements and influence in the music industry. To date, there have only been two recipients of this award; Beyonce Knowles received the honour in 2011, and it was bestowed posthumously to Whitney Houston in 2012.
At the Billboard Music Awards show, which will be hosted by rapper and actor Ludacris and singer Ciara, mother-of-two Britney is also expected to surprise fans with a medley of her greatest hits.
Singer Justin Bieber will perform his new single Company at the awards show, with performances also scheduled from the likes of DNCE, The Go-Go's, Shawn Mendes and Pink.
Britney, 34, is currently wowing audiences with her Piece of Me Las Vegas residency, flaunting her svelte figure and impressing with her vocals and dance moves. Britney also recently confirmed that she's recording new music and highly-anticipated single Make Me (Oooh), from her upcoming ninth studio album, is scheduled to drop sometime this month (May16).
The Pretty Girls singer has collected six Billboard Music Awards in the past, and had six albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with 24 Top 40 singles charting on the Billboard Hot 100.
She has also sold over 100 million albums worldwide and more than 28.6 million digital singles in the United States alone, making her one of the best-selling musicians of all time.
The 2016 Billboard Music Awards will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on May 22 (16).
