Bruno Mars has landed a spot on the upcoming series of Sesame Street.
The 25-year-old musician has penned tracks for many well-known artists, including Travie McCoy, Cee Lo Green and Flo Rida. He's now enjoying success in his own right after releasing his debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans last year.
The singer has been booked on the iconic children's show alongside a host of stars including Nicole Kidman, Seth Rogen and George Lopez.
Katy Perry and US First Lady Michelle Obama have previously appeared on the show, with Katy's segment being cut because her outfit showed too much cleavage.
Despite their prior disapproval of the songstress' risqué garb, producers don't seem concerned about Bruno's arrest for cocaine possession in Las Vegas in September 2010. The American star reached a deal with prosecutors to pay a $2,000 fine, serve 200 hours of community service and undergo drug abuse counselling after being caught in possession of the class A substance.
Bruno is one of more than three dozen celebrities who are lined up to appear on Sesame Street this series, with the 42nd season beginning in the US on September 26.
It will focus on science, maths and engineering education, and will see the orange monster Murray conduct science experiments in a regular feature.
