Buddy Guy was named the B.B. King Entertainer of the Year at Thursday night's 35th annual Blues Awards held in Memphis.
In general, the awards were well spread out over a host of artists with Charlie Musselwhite and Susan Tedeschi (two with husband Derek Trucks) taking the most awards with three each while the album Remembering Little Walter by Billy Boy Arnold, Musselwhite, Mark Hummel, Sugar Ray Norcia and James Harman won two including Album of the Year as did Trucks.
Musselwhite won for the Little Walter album and as Harmonica artist. Tedeschi won for Band and Rock Blues Album for Made Up Mind by the Tedeschi Trucks Band along with Contemporary Blues Female Artist.
