Calvin Harris' mother knows more about music than he does.
The 'Acceptable In The 80s' hitmaker says his mom is his number one fan, and she has discovered several other current artists since he entered the charts.
He said: "My mum has even started listening to Radio 1 instead of Radio 4. My mum now knows more about new music than I do. We recently had a chat about the latest La Roux single - that was a revelation."
Despite his successes, the Scottish star admits he is unhappy with his debut album 'I Created Disco', and although he believes the follow-up 'Ready For The Weekend' is better, Calvin is unsure how much longer he will continue singing.
He added to Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "If I were to re-record the first one now, it would sound different. But I'm 100 per cent pleased with the new one. The goal was to make a big, commercial record. It's classic dance music in a modern environment.
"On the one hand, I'd love to play football stadiums and see everyone with their hands in the air. On the other, I don't want to be a front man much longer. I'm not a natural singer, and I'd rather be like Groove Armada or Basement Jaxx, who use guest vocalists."
'Ready For The Weekend' is released later this month.
