Cameron Diaz reportedly wants to spend more quality time with her new husband.
The Hollywood actress tied the knot with Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden in January (15) after just seven months of dating. Although they went on a romantic getaway following their nuptials, it's thought Cameron feels a distance between her and her spouse since they resumed their everyday routines. Luckily she has close pal Nicole Richie, who is married to Benji's twin brother Joel, to turn to for advice.
"Cameron and Nicole are close and have both had problems in their marriages recently, so have been leaning on one another," an insider told Britain's Closer magazine. "Cameron and Benji feel like they haven't spent enough quality time together, so have agreed to take a sunshine holiday next month (Nov15) to try and iron out their issues and hopefully get back on track."
Nicole and Joel have been hit by rumours of troubles in their marriage over recent months, though the pair have put on a united front amid the reports. Helping them work through their alleged hardships are their kids, daughter Harlow, seven, and six-year-old son Sparrow.
Starting a family is thought to be one of the problems Cameron and Benji are facing. Having reportedly been trying for children for some time, the blonde star is said to be feeling disheartened by their failed attempts.
"Cameron has taken a career break since she got married, but they are still struggling to get pregnant and this has been frustrating for both of them," the source added. "Benji has been busy working on new music with... Joel, so they haven't been able to spend that much time together. Meanwhile, Cameron is starting to miss work and has asked her agent to start sending her scripts again."
