Carbon/Silicon – the new band that reunites Mick Jones and Tony James – release their debut album, The Last Post on Carbon / Silicon Records, on Monday 8th October. They also release their second single, The Magic Suitcase, three weeks earlier on September 10th.
Carbon / Silicon, who last played at the Isle Of Wight Festival in June, have announced a show at The Electric Ballroom in Camden Town on Thursday 20th September. Tickets go on sale at 9:00am on 8th August priced at £15.00 and are available from the venue box office 020 7485 9006, online at www.ticketweb.co.uk / www.seetickets.com / www.stargreen.com and in person from All Ages Records, Camden
The single will be available on CD, 7" vinyl and download and features four songs, Magic Suitcase, Acton Zulus, Soylent Green and Third World War Poetry. All were mixed by Bill Price, whose previous credits include work with The Libertines and The Clash.
Jones and James have been friends since 1975, immediately before forming, respectively, The Clash and Generation X. They have been writing songs together since 2002, the same year Mick was producing The Libertines' groundbreaking first album. By 2004 the Jones and James partnership had grown to become a fully-fledged band with the addition of bass and drums. The current lineup was settled in 2006 when Jones and James were also joined by Leo 'E-zee-Kill' Williams - who had previously played with Mick in BAD and Dreadzone - on bass guitar and Dominic Greensmith (Reef) on drums.
