Carl Barat broke his collarbone after falling off a motorbike while drunk, he has revealed.
The Dirty Pretty Things star was involved in an accident in Taiwan last week, just days before the band were due to begin a tour of America.
The injury prompted the group to bring in a member of The Paddingtons to play guitar for the shows in the US, which began in Los Angeles last night.
Barat was able to play the gig and expects to complete the six date tour, with Josh Hubbard filling in for him.
After the show he explained how the accident happened: "I went to karaoke and drunk a lot of saki, came outside, and people were stood out on their motorbikes.
"They were driving Triumphs which was a surprise to me, I asked to have a go and I did, and I fell off," Barat told the BBC.
"I revved it up, and flew off the handle bars, only in a car park, I didn't endanger anyone but myself."
