Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) has spoken out with a message of peace for the children of the world, citing one of his old songs 'Oh Very Young' as part of his message.
In a video posted at YouTube, he says that there are always three things that remain pure, "nature, animals and children". "The world needs children to kind of remind us which way we want this world to go. I wrote a song once called 'Oh Very Young' which says it briefly."
Also at his official wesbite, he says, "Beyond the safe veil of our dreams, morning breaks over much of the world in fear of what another day may bring; more hatred, more death, less sunshine of hope – just more darkness".
"Alas! The voices of the Prophets and their message to humanity become increasingly distant and drowned in the vortex of politics and twisted excuses. Have we the people of this earth no righteous leaders left?
The red horse of War, the black horse of Famine, the pale-green horse of Death and the relentless white horse of Conquest… As we watch the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse raiding the cities of this lost nation of Adam, we are justified to ask: is this the final page of man?
Not much peace this day or this year for a broken world, which has left the safety of God's promise to the righteous inheritors. Nevertheless, this will not stop those who have grasped His offer of peace to cease dreaming.
So I wish you all a better and more promising new year – if God wills.
