The 36-year-old singer has teamed up with the Oscar winning actress to record a new version of his Grammy-nominated hit, F**K You. Gwyneth had previously showcased her talent for performing the song on hit US show Glee. Although impressed by her version, Cee Lo reserved further praise for the Country Strong star after witnessing her perform in person.
"I started off the New Year [in] a very special way and that's recording with Miss Gwyneth. In about four takes, impressively, she nailed it. She got in and she sang the original key the song was recorded in, so there wasn't much we had to change,” he told MTV. “She's got great vocal control and range... she did her warm-ups and her ritual... I don't really do any of these things. I just roll out of bed and just sing. She was very professional and very clear, it was great."
With his stock at a current high following his 2010 hit, Cee Lo is keen to maintain his professional momentum. But as the track nears completion, the Gnarls Barkley frontman confirms he isn’t certain the song will officially be released as a single.
"I'm not sure if it will be released to iTunes... I'm not sure of the long view and plan for it," he added.
