Cee Lo Green confirms first UK tour since the release of the smash hit #1 single 'Forget You'.
One of the defining new superstars of 2010, Cee Lo Green has confirmed details of his first UK tour since the release of his global smash hit #1 single 'Forget You' and his recent genre-defining album 'The Lady Killer'. Firmly established as one of the most compelling live vocalists around following his memorable performances as part of Gnarls Barkley, Cee Lo Green's UK tour runs as below:
March
7th ' Bristol, O2 Academy
12th ' Birmingham, O2 Academy
16th ' Manchester, Academy
17th ' London, O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
Tickets go on sale from 9am on December 17th at a price of £25 for London and £23.50 for all other dates.
Featuring collaborators including Salaam Remi and Fraser T. Smith, 'The Lady Killer' is the album Cee Lo was destined to make. It seals his rep: not only as a writer, producer and performer of unrivalled pizzazz, chutzpah, inventiveness and genius; but as a singer whose voice can nail an emotion ' be it pain, yearning, anger, sarcasm, love, lust, frustration ' like no other. Cee Lo Green stands alone.
Listen to 'Wildflower' or 'I Want You', two songs of heart-stopping tenderness and longing. To 'Cry Baby', a summer breeze of a song whose melodic lushness and optimism utterly belie the sentiment it expresses. To 'Bodies', a Chad Hugo co-production that sets Cee Lo's film-noir lyric to an appropriately ghostly backing, all sinuous guitar and military-tattoo percussion. And listen, too, to 'F**k You' and ask yourself this: chuckle-inducing profanity aside, has there ever been a more uncompromising, more defiantly sung I'm-so-over-you pop song? Why do we believe in that defiance? Because Cee Lo sings it like he means it.
The album has cemented Green's status as both the greatest male voice in American music today and earned rave reviews from publications including The Sunday Times (5*), The Independent (5*), Q (4*), News of the World (5*), The Mail on Sunday (5*), Mojo (4*), The Sun (4/5), The Guardian (4*), The Evening Standard (4*)and The Mirror (4*).
Green's next single, 'It's OK', was co-produced by Paul Epworth and will be released on December 27th.
