Cee Lo Green's track 'Forget You' has gone to the top of the UK single chart tonight (October 10).
It is fitting on the day that soul great Solomon Burke died that a soul shouter in his mould has taken the number one spot - and in some style. The track has sold some 107,000 copies in its first week alone, making it one of just seven singles this year so far to have had week one sales of over 100,000 copies.
Such is the huge interest in the Cee Lo song that Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow's much vaunted single 'Shame' has been bumped to the number two position.
There are two other new entries in this week’s top 10. Tinie Tempah is straight in at number five with 'Miami 2 Ibiza' in collaboration with DJ production trio Swedish House Mafia while Kings Of Leon score their third UK top 10 single with 'Radioactive' straight in at number seven.
On the album chart, Tinie had more success. His debut 'Disc-Overy' has gone straight in at number one. It is one of the biggest sellers of the year having shifted 85,000 copies.
The only other new entry in this week’s Top 10 is A-Ha’s greatest hits collection '25' which is straight in at number 10.
