A 4,700-strong packed house at the Fox Theatre, Detroit, awaited the comedian as he kicked off his My Violent Torpedo of Truth / Defeat is Not an Option tour.
Little was known about the content of the show, announced to much hype on the back of his troubles with the law and his firing from hit show Two and a Half Men.
Sheen began by launching into a “rant”, standing in front of a logo for the “Warlock States of Sheen”.
“They took my awesome children. They took my sometimes groovy job. They tried to take my brain and my heart and my titanium spine,” he reportedly said.
He then launched into a Q&A section, but reportedly deflected most of them as too lame to merit his attention.
An initially enthusiastic crowd turned hostile, jeering and asking for their money back. As the boos increased, he walked off the stage saying he was going for a musical break – but he never returned.
