The ‘Two and a Half Men’ star was being investigated by police after a complaint was filed by Christina Walsh, claiming she was the victim of assault and harassment in the second degree at the New York Plaza hotel in October, when the actor allegedly went on a wild drink and drug-fuelled rampage, smashing up his room.
Christina – a porn star who performs under the name Capri Anderson - was hired by Charlie, 45, as an escort on the night in question but called hotel security after the actor went crazy and allegedly threw a lamp at her while shouting abuse.
Initial reports from a New York Police Department source said the case was closed, but lawyer Keith Davidson, who represents Christina later insisted proceedings are ongoing.
He said: “I just had a conversation with the Manhattan District Attorney’s office and they have assured me it’s still an open investigation.”
However, police insiders later confirmed to the New York Post newspaper that though the investigation is still technically open, it is likely to be closed soon, and it is highly unlikely that Charlie will face any criminal conduct.
Christina, 22, had also filed a lawsuit as well as her criminal complaint against Charlie, which prompted the actor to counter-sue, accusing her of trying to extort $1 million from him and of stealing his $165,000 Patek Phillippe watch. The present the status of either lawsuit is unknown.
