The achievement was announced Thursday by the Guinness Book of Records after Sheen launched his Twitter account on March 1 and managed to amass 1 million followers in just 25 hours and 17 minutes.
Sheen's Twitter habit coincides with a relentless media barrage by the star of the now suspended sitcom Two and a Half Men, in which his bizarre statements about his lifestyle and abilities has prompted many to question his mental state.
On Tuesday, police removed Charlie Sheen's two twins from the house he shares with his two girlfriends after ex-wife Brooke Mueller was granted a temporary restraining order against him. Mueller said that she had doubts about his 'current sanity' and that he had threatened her when she tried to get the twins back.
'I will cut your head off, put it in a box and send it to your mom,' she claimed he said.
