Charlie Simpson caught up with Absolute Radio backstage at the Barclaycard Presents British Summertime Hyde Park Festival in London and when quizzed on his thoughts about reality TV shows like the X Factor and The Voice, Simpson said: "I'm not a big fan of reality TV shows to be honest. It's a bit of a cliche to say it's ruining the music industry but I just don't really care about it.
"I don't think that it helps the artist because they'll have their 15 minutes of fame. If you look at the hit rate of these artists it's very slim. I can maybe think of three or four who have carved out a good career for themselves. The majority of people who come off those shows and have that initial success before it fades away are left in a worse position from where they started."
"The people making the shows dont care because they're making their millions. It's a bit of a viscous circle but it's entertainment and people enjoy it, so I'm not gonna take that away from people, but It's just not my thing."
Charlie also denied rumours that he'd be reuniting with his Busted pals but said he is looking forward to another Fight Star record "Busted - that wont be happening, but i'll definitely be getting in the studio with Fight Star again."
