Charlotte Church has hit out at "lazy journalists" after The Daily Express and other publications reported that she is "broke" and will have to work for the rest of her life.
The singer, who rose to fame as a classical singer as a child, was estimated to be worth around £25 million aged 16. She has recently hit the headlines ahead of her documentary Charlotte Church: In Her Own Voice though, after reportedly saying: "I will have to work for the rest of my life. Not because I want to, but because I have to. The tax man is looking at my accounts wondering where I'm hiding all my money."
However, the singer has taken to Twitter to criticise the tabloids for taking these comments out of context - insisting she was in fact criticising those who made up figures of how much she was worth.

@Daily_Express called the internet, it's very easy to use. #Stopmisinformingpeople #negativepretenders
The singer, who was heavily involved with the Leveson investigation after suffering at the hands of invasive press for all of her teenage years, went on to suggest the tabloids had a case of the "sour grapes."
Charlotte Church: In Her Own Voice airs on BBC One Wales at 9.40pm on 12 July.
