Cher would reportedly "move mountains" to work with Adele.
British singer Adele has become one of the most in-demand stars around over the last year, following the success of her record 21.
Artists as diverse as George Michael, Jessie J and DMX have all said they would love to work with her, with Cher said to be her latest celebrity fan.
"Cher would have moved mountains to get Adele to write her a song or just sing a chorus on her album," a source told National Enquirer.
The older star was apparently hoping she could record something with 24-year-old Adele for her upcoming album. It will be her 26th LP and so the 65-year-old is keen to pull out all the stops.
Unfortunately, the plan didn't work out so Cher has collaborated with Lady Gaga instead.
The two first met at an awards show and last year they confirmed they had recorded a song called The Greatest Thing together.
"Cher's thrilled that Gaga stepped up to help," the insider added.
Gaga penned The Greatest Thing but never released it as it didn't quite work on any of her records. When she heard Cher wanted to work with her she knew the song would be the perfect fit.
"Cher heard the song and loved it and wanted to do it together," the flamboyant singer previously explained. "And I said, 'F**k yeah, it's Cher!'"
Cher's new record doesn't have a release date yet, but she is planning to tour later this year.
