Chris Martin thinks U2's new album is "f***ing brilliant".
The 'Viva la Vida' singer - who was recently branded a "w****r" by U2 frontman Bono on live radio - insists there is no rivalry between the bands.
Chris even plays U2's latest album 'No Line On The Horizon' before Coldplay concerts.
He said: "We never started any rivalry, because we are fully aware that we are a number six band. We are not even number two.
"We are always very thrilled when someone even bothers to compare us, but we are 23 years behind them and they are in a way different league."
Bono quickly apologised for his attack on the 32-year-old musician, praising his song-writing skills and declaring Coldplay a "great band".
But Chris claims Coldplay doesn't even come close to measuring up to the legendary Irish rockers.
He added to Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "It's like comparing a high jumper with an astronaut. We are doing alright but they have gone a lot further and a lot higher."
