Chris Martin, frontman of increasingly annoying Coldplay has asked if Australian police will drop charges filed against him by a photographer whose equipment he smashed.
Apparently Chris was throwing some shapes on his surfboard when he spotted amateur cameraman, Jon Lister, snapping away. Chris demanded that he delete the pictures of him taken on a digital camera, but Lister refused. He then gave chase and in what can only be explained as a sudden rush of blood to the head, smashed Lister's windscreen with a rock and let down the car's tyres. Lawyers acting for the singer have appeared in court in Byron Bay, Australia, and applied to have the charges dropped. A tactic that I personally will be keenly following and if successful will exercise the same principal next time I am landed with a parking ticket. Unfortunately for Chris, the malicious damage charge carries a severer penalty, up to a maximum sentence of five years in prison. To be honest, with the amount of airplay that Coldplay's last offering is currently receiving it could be a welcome break for us all.
The case has been adjourned until November 21st.
