Chris Martin prefers to "keep quiet" about his personal life.
The Coldplay singer has just released his fifth album with the band, Mylo Xyloto.
Chris revealed that he isn't that comfortable with fame and blames his English roots for his coyness.
The 34-year-old musician is married to Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow, and is thrilled with her success in the spotlight.
"Maybe it's an English thing, but I prefer trying to keep quiet and out of the way," he told USA today. "I'm happy for my wife to be the famous one. She's doing awesomely, and I'm very proud."
Chris and Gwyneth have two children together; Apple, 7 and 5-year-old Moses.
The singer confessed that he has to thank his public profile for giving him his family.
"I wouldn't even have a girlfriend if I wasn't in this band," he says humbly.
"I'm so grateful for my job; it's given me everything I have."
Chris explained that having children has made him more decisive when creating an album. The star doesn't like to be away from home for too long.
"It's made me more focused on not wasting time on anything I don't think is worth wasting time on," he said.
"That makes the editing process a bit more brutal, because you don't want to be gone for six months promoting something you think is terrible."
