Chris Martin says his children are a "great gauge" on how good his music is.
The Coldplay frontman uses his kids' opinions to see if his tracks are up to scratch. Chris believes the proof he has created a good tune is if his daughter Apple and son Moses hum it over the breakfast table.
"Kids are very honest," Chris told British newspaper The Sun. "If they start singing a song it's because they like it. It's a great gauge."
Family man Chris also thanks his daughter and son for keeping him grounded. He can sometimes get swept up in his celebrity life and appreciates that as soon as he steps inside his front door he is reminded that his first priority is being a father.
"When we played Wembley Stadium I was like, 'Wow, now we are big rock stars,'" he recently laughed. "But next morning the kids were saying, 'Get me some pancakes.'"
The 35-year-old is married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow. Together the couple have a large circle of famous musical friends including rap superstar Jay-Z and Beyoncé Knowles. Despite having credible artists to call upon for advice about his music, Chris still trusts his children the most.
He has previously credited his tots with stopping him from developing an inflated opinion of himself. With four siblings himself, the talented singer-songwriter is known to value his low-key family life.
"Just at the point where you would have got really big egos, we all have these little people who we are all responsible for," he said. "They keep us focused on what is really important in life."
