CHRIS MARTIN was "honest and brutal" with singer Natalie Imbruglia when working with her on her new album.
The Australian singer revealed that the Coldplay frontman helped her with some of the tracks and sometimes they disagreed on things.
Speaking to NME, she said: "The album's all over the shop, style-wise, but it's certainly not boring When I worked with Chris Martin [who co-wrote three tracks on the album] he was very honest and brutal with me. He helped me with my tracklisting and we got rid of riff-raff.
"Sometimes we agreed, sometimes we disagreed. The hard bit is him saying which songs he doesn't like, but it's refreshing to have someone of that calibre with you. So yes - I had a semi-nervous breakdown.
"When I worked with him I'd kind of finished the record, but then he called and I thought: 'I have to do this.'"
