Chris Martin is reportedly helping Alexa Chung win a record deal.
The Coldplay rocker has dismissed romantic speculation about him and Alexa, which surfaced after he and his wife Gwyneth Paltrow confirmed they had split earlier this year.
Chris and Alexa were seen out on what looked like a date, but it's now been claimed he is actually giving the TV presenter tips on making a career change.
"He listened to a demo album of tracks, which he played to his Coldplay bandmates and producer contacts and has already set up meetings for her with Coldplay's record label, as well as his friend Jay Z's label Roc Nation," an insider told British magazine Heat.
The news comes following rumours that Chris and Gwyneth could be thinking twice about their "conscious uncoupling", as they called it when confirming the split. They have been seen out having meals together and still share the same house. Initially it was thought they were working hard to remain on good terms for the sake of their two children Moses and Apple, but it's now thought that putting some ground rules in place could have made them realise how much they want to be together.
Meanwhile, Alexa is said to be thrilled to have a member of such a major band supporting her. She has apparently been working on songs for some time, but wanted to tread carefully when moving into music.
"Alexa has wanted to branch out into music for years, but with her modelling and presenting career taking off, there was never an opportunity to make it happen," the source said. "She was on the verge of doing something when she was going out with [Arctic Monkeys'] Alex Turner, but instead she decided to move to New York and continue to write and work on her music. The last thing she wanted to do was launch herself into the music world and be a flop, which she knew would be career suicide."
