(Cover) - EN Movies - Clint Eastwood is expected to direct the Jersey Boys movie.
The actor has reportedly teamed up with Warner Bros for the forthcoming musical film.
Apparently the star and his motion picture colleagues are hoping to audition stage performers for the main part in the flick.
They will be looking at personalities from the different destinations around the globe which have Jersey Boys in theatres.
The move would mean the production company spends considerably less money on the project.
However Deadline points out that the decision could make the film more difficult for Sue Kroll, the Warner Bros. worldwide marketing president, to promote to a Hollywood cinema audience.
Work on the Warner Bros lot in Los Angeles will reportedly begin at the end of August.
Graham King and Rob Lorenz are producing, with Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio of the Four Seasons band being executive producers.
Bob write music for the theatre performances, with lyrics by Bob Crewe, and direction by Des McAnuff.
The musical about the Four Seasons was written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and produced by Dodger Theatricals.
It has apparently earned over $1 billion in sales worldwide.
It opened in 2005 and collected four Tony Awards in 2006, including Best Musical.
That year it won the Grammy award for its soundtrack, and it also took the 2009 Olivier Award for Best Musical after it opened on the London West End stage in 2008.
