Clint Eastwood is to meet up with Leonardo DiCaprio to discuss casting him in the director's next movie, A Star is Born.
It was reported by Deadline back in January that Eastwood had already cast Beyonce in the remake of the 1976 film that starred Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson.
Now Deadline reports that the Gran Torino helmsman wants DiCaprio to take the male lead alongside the singer.
DiCaprio would play an ageing movie star who helps a young actress find fame.
Rumoured to be in development for a number of years, at one point Will Smith was odds-on to take the part now being eyed up by DiCaprio.
Eastwood's next film, J. Edgar - which also stars DiCaprio - is scheduled for a December release.
