Courteeners fans have a special treat in store when front man Liam Fray plays a one-off acoustic show at Dingwalls on 10th March.
Liam's acoustic shows are legend in his native Manchester where impromptu sets at Courteeners aftershow parties have seen almost the entire audience transfer from the venue to the party to enjoy Liam's unique solo take on the band's songs alongside a few that remain strictly Liam only compositions.
The Courteeners were originally born from Liam's acoustic sets around the North West. Having formed the band, Liam retained an interest in playing to audiences armed only with an acoustic guitar and his proficiency in this setting ably demonstrates the lyrical brilliance and melodic style that underpins the band's formidable canon of songs.
London has only twice before been treated to this show. Liam took to the stage at the Union Chapel in Islington after Bono and The Edge of U2 for a show in aide of Mencap and transposed the Manchester gig template to London on the band's first headline gig last year.
The show precedes The Courteeners headline April tour and the release of their debut album, 'St Jude', on April 7th, see www.thecourteeners.com for full details.
