Cute Is What We Aim For return with their hotly-anticipated sophomore album Rotation, released on July 7 through Fueled By Ramen Records, single 'Practice Makes Perfect' is released on the same day.
Rotation finds Cute Is What We Aim For suitably untroubled by the 'difficult second album' syndrome - instead delivering a stomping collection of effervescent new songs, with the band's trademark killer hooks driven by an expanded knack for exploration and invention.
Produced by John Feldmann (The Used, Story of the Year), tracks such as forthcoming single 'Practice Makes Perfect' – with its singing synths and bouncing new-wave sensibility, prove the New York-based combo's caustic lyrical wit and penchant for soaring choruses remains in full effect. Elsewhere, 'Loser' is a punk-pop classic in waiting, while the electronic flourishes on 'Navigate Me' show CIWWAF unafraid to add bold new colours to their already bright palette.
Rotation is the band's follow-up to their critically-acclaimed 2006 debut, The Same Old Blood Rush With A New Touch, which became the fastest-selling new release in the history of the Fueled By Ramen label. CIWWAF rapidly built a faithful and fervent fanbase via an active online presence and good old-fashioned roadwork. The band toured almost non-stop throughout 2006 and 2007, headlining shows and sharing stages with the likes of Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes, Paramore, Plain White Ts, Hit The Lights, and Hellogoodbye.
