Cyndi Lauper feels like she has neglected her family.
The singer recently won an Emmy Award for her Broadway musical Kinky Boots and is about to go on tour with her tunes.
However with her successes she has had less time for her spouse and son.
"I feel like I've neglected them, and they've been really patient," she admitted to USA Today. "But after I do the tour I'm going to chill for a little bit."
The 60-year-old is married to David Thornton and they have a teenage son named Declyn.
She is about to go on the road to perform her album She's So Unusual on the 30th anniversary of its release.
"I've never really sung the whole album [in concert], top to bottom, but I wanted to give something back to my fans," she shared.
Cyndi will carry out 23 gigs after her musical scooped six gongs at New York's Radio City Music Hall on Sunday.
She confessed she turned up to the event with no expectations of after a series of disappointment in the past.
"A long time ago I had seven Grammy Award nominations, she admitted. "Everyone was predicting how well I'd do, but I didn't. You can never say.
"I think my fans, all those girls with sunglasses on, feel like they won, too," she says. "I'm just thrilled to be part of a show that has made so many people happy."
