Ballroom stars Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Tony Dovolani, Anna Trebunskaya and Chelsie Hightower (pictured) showed up in jeans, T-shirts and hardhats at the Wisconsin home of Rhex and Claire Arboleda and their five kids.
The dancers volunteered to pitch in on the project after hearing the story of Rhex, an unsung hometown hero who started a program called Move to the Groove that encourages kids to get up and move, dance and be active.
'This family of seven was living in a 500-square-foot home, but they were the most positive people,' Hough said.
'It was wonderful to be part of that energy, to give back to someone who had given so much but had so little. After a few hours of swinging a hammer I was quite sore, I have to admit. Building is definitely harder than dancing.'
After a just a week of construction the home was transformed into a 4200-square-foot dream home built by dozens of volunteers.
