"Dancing With The Stars" Recap: Brandy Rocks To The Top Again

Looks like there's a new favorite on "Dancing With the Stars," and it's pop singer Brandy.

For the second week in a row, the 31-year-old singer-actress topped the "Dancing With the Stars" scoreboard. During Monday night's rock and roll-themed show, Brandy and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were the last to go, but they had the strongest impact. They performed a tango to the Bonnie Tyler hit "Holding Out for a Hero," and judges loved the way they moved. Head judge Len Goodman said that it was the dance of the night, while Bruno Tonioli likened the singer to Tina Turner in the "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" movie. 26/30.

MTV reality TV star Audrina Patridge also rocked, grabbing the next-highest score for her paso doble. She and Tony Dovolani did mixed-martial-arts training in order to make the soft-spoken Patridge a bit more aggressive. Goodman thought it worked, and told her that she has the potential to blow them away every week. Still, he said that she needed to work on character, because it lacked. Tonioli joked that Patridge needed to envision a man-eating Spanish beauty to help her channel her aggression moving forward. 24/30.

Disney kid Kyle Massey and his partner Lacey Schwimmer did a tango, and judges said his performance was much better. Carrie Ann Inaba say said that he makes everything his own, and that he had great carriage all through the dance. 23/30.

Former favorite Jennifer Grey and her partner Derek Hough danced the paso doble to Pink's "So What," and continued to fall from the top. Judges said that Grey needed to calm down. Inaba pointed out that the performance was totally disjointed, saying, "You're like the chosen one, and you're going downhill. It was a rough, rough ride." Goodman said the pair had the attack, aggression and attitude, but they lost some of the control. 20/30.

Basketball star Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke also did the tango, and judges thought that he was a most-improved player. Tonioli said he would have liked to have seen a little more light and shade from the athlete, but thought that Fox was like a Mohican on the warpath. 24/30.

Politician's daughter Bristol Palin and her partner Mark Ballas needed to rebound from last week's monkey-suit performance, and the judges thought they did. Tonioli said that it was her best performance and technique so far. Inaba called her performance ridiculously amazing, and Goodman jokingly asked, "Who are you?" He said Palin went "from chimp to almost a champ." She got her highest score yet. 23/30.

The lowest scores of the night went to former football star Kurt Warner. He and Anna Trebunskaya did the paso doble, and judges thought their performance was uncomfortable and unpolished. 18/30.

After the initial dances were complete, the celebrities participated in an old-school, 1950s-style, free-for-all dance off. Brandy and Chmerkovskiy scored the highest, collecting an additional 10 points; Warner and Trebunskaya got the least with 4.
