David Bowie is to curate a new music festival in New York City, it has been announced.
Bowie has agreed to choose the acts that will appear at the first ever High Line Festival, which takes place in May 2007.
The event, which will see Bowie himself playing his first live show in the city since 2003, is scheduled to take place in a public park currently being created in the West side of Manhattan.
Speaking about the appointment, Bowie, who has championed the likes of Arcade Fire and the Secret Machines in recent years, explained his remit for High Line.
He said: "I've been particularly excited about seeking out emerging artists and giving them a place in a festival that will also feature some very well-known names."document.write(unescape("
