The small, private memorial service for Davy Jones has been set for Wednesday according to a source who talked to the Hollywood Reporter.
Information on the memorial for the former singer from the Monkees has been very sparse other than a short statement made by the family that the service would be private and small. Additional reports stated that there would be public memorials at some point in the future in New York and England.
Later, ex-bandmate Micky Dolenz confirmed the private request by telling Billboard "My understanding is they want to avoid a media circus and the family wants to keep it very, very low-key and very, very private and you can imagine as soon as one or two or any of us were to show up, it would very quickly be degraded into something that I don't think his immediate family would want to deal with."
TMZ also reported on Tuesday that Jones' body would be cremated.
