Deacon Blue front man, Ricky Ross, hits the road again in April 2013 performing songs from Deacon Blue and his solo career, and telling the stories behind the songs.
In 2012 Ricky Ross celebrated 25 years in Deacon Blue, they released a Top 20 album and sold out their 17 date UK arena tour.
In 2013 Ricky plans on doing something a little different, its an opportunity for Ricky to play songs from his solo career, including tracks from his new solo album Trouble Came Looking, and Deacon Blue songs that you might not normally hear.
Ricky says this is a great opportunity for me, its going to be an adventure for one thing, Gregor Philp will accompany me on guitar and the two of us will set off driving ourselves around the country. The idea was to stop pretty much anywhere that had a piano, so that we could set up with minimal fuss. Im looking forward to playing places we couldnt get to with Deacon Blue, and sharing the untold stories behind my songs in village halls and churches.
The tour will take in beautiful venues around the country, as far north as the Shetlands and all the way to Brighton in the South.
Ricky began writing Trouble Came Looking as the wheels started to fall off the economy. Its a modern folk album about the helplessness we all felt as governments signed off billions to protect the banks and institutions, and then sat back and watched as normal people lost everything.
Trouble Came Looking is released on 8th April 2013 on Edsel Records.
