Deacon Blue Guitarist Dies

Deacon Blue guitarist Graeme Kelling has died aged 47 from cancer of the pancreas. He had fought a four year battle with the illness. He died in hospital in Glasgow on Thursday. The band, who had a string of hits in the 80's and 90's with Dignity, Real Gone Kid and Fergus Sings The Blues, are reportedly all too upset to comment at this sad time, but a remembrance book will be posted on the bands official website. His former bandmates, including lead singer Ricky Ross and his wife (and co-singer) Lorraine McIntosh have asked for “great memories, photographs or thoughts about Graeme” to be added to the remembrance book.

The band had hit albums including Raintown, Homesick, and When the World Knows Your Name, split in 1994 before reforming in 1999.

Graeme leaves behind his wife Julie and their two young children.
