The 15-year-old singer doesn't understand why there is so much attention paid to the fact she is still a teenager, and she would have been silly not to have grabbed the opportunities which have come her way.
The 'Yeah Right' singer told BANG Showbiz: "There is a big emphasis on it, how young I am, people saying I'm too young to be doing this.
"But then again, if it gets handed to you, you can hardly say no and hope you can do it later, when you're 18, so I may as well take it while I've got it.
"It's something I want to do, so I am."
Dionne does admit, however, becoming a pop star while still studying at school makes for a gruelling schedule.
She added: "It's quite stressful, I'm in year 10 right now so I'm doing GCSEs, which can be a killer. For example, I'm getting up at 06.30 every morning, I'm in school be 08.30. I don't finish until four then I'm at the record label until late most nights.
"I've got a essay to do tonight. A 4,000 word essay, and I've not really started it yet. I've written the title. It's hectic!"
Her classmates have, however, been sympathetic, with her adding: "My friends are really supportive of what I do. I performed in front of my classmates on the radio last week, and that was incredible."
'Yeah Right' is available to download now, while her second album 'Good for the Soul' will follow in the summer.
