Elvis Presley has won the race for the UK's 1000th number one single.
‘One Night', part of a weekly re-release campaign to mark what would have been the King's 70th birthday has beaten challenges from Manic Street Preachers and The Killers to the historic title.
It is Presley's 20th number one single.
The Manics' ‘Empty Souls' is the highest new entry from a living artist, while The Killers enjoy a new entry at three with ‘Somebody Told Me' in the week that their album ‘Hot Fuss' also climbs to number one.
Presley, meanwhile, has two singles inside the chart, with last week's number one, ‘Jailhouse Rock' falling to ten.
Meanwhile there are new entries for The Music, at 20 wiith ‘Breakin', Client featuring Carl Barat at 22 with ‘Pornogrpahy' and Kings Of Leon at 24 with ‘Four Kicks'.
