Fancy owning a piece of macabre rock and roll history? Now's your chance as the original resting place of Elvis Presley is to be sold in a US auction.
On sale is the private crypt, located in Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis, where Elvis was originally interred following his death in 1977. Elvis' body was kept in the crypt alongside the body of his mother Gladys for two months. It has been empty since he was moved to be buried at Graceland.
"I just consider that if you’re an ultimate fan of Elvis Presley, it’s an opportunity," Darren Julian of US auction house Julien's Auctions tells the New York Times. "It’s definitely a conversation piece. Only one person can say, 'Hey, I’m going to be buried where Elvis Presley was.'"
The crypt will be auction at a rock and roll memorabilia event named 'Music Icons', reports the Times. Bidding on the crypt will begin at $100,000. The winning bidder will be win the building plus use of the chapel for a service plus use of the crypt for a burial.
