The legendary Engelbert Humperdinck has been in London working on his new album with award winning producer Martin Terefe and acclaimed singer songwriter Dan Wilson.
Wilson, formerly of the band Semisonic (Closing Time), was also the co-writer of Adele's global smash 'Somebody Like You'. He has written a brand new song especially for Engelbert for this album. Martin Terefe has produced Train and Jason Mraz.
In a statement for Noise11.com Engelbert said, "Martin is a true creative genius and one of the most gifted producers that I have ever worked with. He has a very calm approach and a mean bass player too. He has an amazing group of musicians and engineers around him and I cant wait for this record to come out."
Martin Terefe added, "Working with Engelbert is such a truly remarkable experience. He is without doubt one of the best singers around today and brings so much other musical knowledge to the table".
The album will be released early this year.
Engelbert's manager Scott Dorsey is tight-lipped about the record but tells us he is "happy with the way it is progressing. I've been working on this particular concept for quite sometime and it is nice when it all begins to come together with a great record label and fantastic producer."
During his remarkable career, Engelbert Humperdinck (who turned 75 last year) has sold more than 150 million records worldwide. His string of classics dating back to the 60s includes 'The Last Waltz', 'Release Me', 'After The Loving' and 'There Goes My Everything'.
The yet-to-be titled album will be released through Conehead Records in the UK.
