Eric Prydz BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix revisited

On Saturday, dance music titan Eric Prydz returned to the hallowed BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix decks, taking control of the airwaves for two hours of forward-thinking electronic music.

This marked Prydz' return to the Essential Mix show for the first time since late 2011, when it was recorded live from his set at Creamfields. The reaction to the show on Saturday was so big that it got the Essential Mix trending on Twitter on both sides of the Atlantic while it was being aired.

2012 was a big year for Prydz. He released his 'Eric Prydz presents Pryda' album on Virgin Records, a collection of key productions under his Pryda guise. Receiving critical acclaim, it showed that despite his past mainstream glories, Eric's longevity and success is derived from his deep connection with the underground.

Eric also embarked on a hectic touring schedule that took in a North American tour, headlining Identity Festival and two Sold-Out shows at NYC's famous Roseland Ballroom. Not content to rest on his laurels, he also started his monthly EPIC Radio broadcasts taking fans on a journey into his musical world.
