FARYL SMITH has broken the British record for the fastest-selling classical debut album ever.
The teenage opera star, who shot to fame after winning talent show Britain's Got Talent, has broken records set by Charlotte Church by sailing to the top of the U.K. classical charts with her first album Faryl.
The record has become the fastest debut by a classical artist to reach gold status.
The singer has also been dubbed the England rugby team's lucky mascot after performing the National Anthem before the team's surprise victory in the Six Nations Tournament against France last Saturday (21Mar09).
