Flaming Lips main man Wayne Coyne spoke to Xfm saying the band have started work on their twelfth studio album.
In an exclusive interview with Xfm, The Flaming Lips front man Wayne Coyne has declared the band's next record will be out next summer.
He said: "We have a batch of things that we're excited to see where it's gonna go. The way that Pro Tools and all that stuff goes now, we've all ready been recording stuff just at Steven's (Drozd) house.
"So I'm feeling there's a Flaming Lips album that's really just an album of songs will probably be out by next summer."
Promoting the band's first venture into Hollywood land with movie 'Christmas On Mars', Coyne added: "I'm thinking by the time we get done with all the promotion that'll shoot me out until about the beginning of January. Then I think about the beginning of March we're gonna start putting together a record."
