Post-punk legends Gang Of Four announce details of their comeback album.
Gang Of Four's sixth studio album will be known by the arch title of Content and will be released on October 4.
Gang Of Four had a crack at comeback albums in the mid-'90s, releasing Mall and Shrinkwrapped.
Directly after that, it seemed everybody wanted to be early-'80s Gang Of Four. Content will be their first effort after every late-'90s/early-'00s garage band rediscovered their bloodless strut.
The first taste will be the single 'Who Am I?', due for release on September 13.
Founding members Jon King and Andy Gill released a statement about the album, claiming that they "write about situations in daily life, but these are situations where the point of view is often contradictory or conflicted. Sometimes it's a drama or dialogue, sometimes it's an imagined situation with contradictory voices or commentary."
"What we strive for in all of our songs," they continue, "is to interpret the world in a way you haven't seen nor thought of before. We think you'll hear this in Content."
There will be no studio trickery on the album. They promise only vocals, guitar, bass and drums.
Gang Of Four will tour the UK for the release of the album.
