Gavin Rossdale reportedly had a "Baywatch moment" while rescuing his family dog at the weekend.
The Bush rocker was soaking up some sun with wife Gwen Stefani and the couple's three kids at celebrity fashion designer Rachel Zoe's Malibu beach house on Saturday.
But Celebuzz reports Gavin and Gwen had a close call when their family Pomeranian got too close to the choppy ocean waves.
Photos published by the website appear to show Gavin running to the pooch's rescue, conjuring up images from David Hasselhoff's days as a lifeguard on hit 90s TV drama Baywatch, which also took place in Los Angeles.
While the pup was soaked, Gavin appeared to come to its aid just in time.
It was a big family day for the rocker, his wife and their boys, who joined Rachel, her husband Rodger, and their three-year-old son Skyler at the beach. Rachel and Rodger also share six-month-old Kai.
Gwen logged onto Twitter during the outing, posting a photo alongside her Rachel, which she captioned: "Malibu w this girl @RachelZoe thank u #summertime."
The day out came shortly after Gavin and Gwen welcomed their third child.
The couple share Kingston, eight, Zuma, five, and Apollo, four months.
Gwen waited until January to confirm she was expecting another son, sharing a photo on Instagram which showed her wearing a blue shirt and crown, accompanied with a caption to confirm the news.
"I was ready to hand over the crown. But I guess I am still queen of the house. #itsaboy #surroundedbyboys, (sic)" she wrote.
Gwen previously spoke about her desire to expand her family. In an interview with the US edition of Marie Claire magazine in October 2012, the star recalled her distressing experience trying to conceive.
"I really, really, really wanted one about two years ago. And it didn't really work out," she said. "So… I feel good with what we've got. Everything works out how it should. You can't plan anything, right? You can try."
