Gerard Way made his first ever live solo appearance yesterday, when he appeared unannounced at Warner Bros' Summer Sessions concert series.
The singer, who is best known for his work in My Chemical Romance, is set to perform at Reading and Leeds festivals later this month. Ahead of those appearances, theWay turned up at Burbank, California for a surprise Warner Bros. Summer Session.
Included in his short setlist were 'Bureau', the opening track from Way's debut solo album Hesitant Alien, and forthcoming single 'No Shows.'
Speaking to DIY about his new album, Way said: "This time, I was very conscious in my influences and I chased them down very hard. I started to make the record that I wanted to hear, that I wanted to go into a store and buy."
Hesitant Alien is due for release on 29 September, via Warner Bros. Records.
