Country star Glen Campbell has been sentenced to ten days in jail after pleading guilty to a hit and run accident last year. He will begin his sentence on 1 July. The 68 year old singing star hit a waiters car last November while drunk. He was fined $900, ordered to abstain from drinking during the probation period, and will have to serve 75 hours community service.
The singer told the judge, “Believe you me, I think that's the last you've seen of Glen Campbell putting alcohol in his veins.â€
After crashing his BMW, in which nobody was injured, he scuffled with police, hitting one with his knee, and, perhaps worse, drunkenly singing his hit Rhinestone Cowboy. His lawyer, Larry Kazan, successfully asked the judge to give him time off during the day to rehearse for his many scheduled concerts.
Allegedly some top bookmakers are offering odds of 3-1 that he'll be pissed by August and back in the big house! Great odds I think.
